The Introduction to Environmental Engineering and Advance Biomed classes at Spokane Valley Tech took a field trip to the Spokane Water Resource Center on October 3, 2018. Students learned about how Spokane County keeps its citizens healthy and its drinking water free of biological and chemical contaminants. Classes then collected water samples from the Spokane River and the waterfall duck pond at Mirabeau. Testing protocols are underway for coliform bacteria as well as phosphate, nitrate, and pH.
Students in Intro to Environmental Engineering test water quality from the wastewater resource center, a small pond, and the Spokane River.
